There are many years of education involved in becoming a nurse. There are three paths to becoming a registered nurse with the first being a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing, which is offered at universities and colleges. This take about four years to complete. There is the associate degree in nursing that is offered by community and junior colleges and this takes two to three years.
The diploma program takes another three years and is administered in hospitals. Any licensed graduate of any of the three programs listed here will qualify for staff nursing at the entry level position. If this is your goal, keep in mind that some career paths are only open to those with a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
Nurses who are ready to gain NCLEX qualifications will need to take the exam. Getting prepared involves a study plan that will cover all the topics and this NCLEX training can be found online.
